Balihoo Clubhouse and Restaurant
  • The Ballihoo Clubhouse & Restaurant, which is exclusively for the use of Lower Mill Estate homeowners and holiday makers, offers a comprehensive breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks and takeaway menu. Diners can enjoy the finest and freshest local produce in a modern eco-friendly environment that delivers a true taste of the Cotswolds.

  • The General Store at Balihoo
    The General Store provides guests with local and essential provisions for you during your stay. So whether its logs for the fire, local meats for the BBQ or you just fancy an afternoon sitting in the sun with a newspaper and a frothy cappuccino, the General Store has this and much more to offer.

  • Open every day throughout the holidays and Fridays and weekends out of school holidays. Contact us to pre-order all provisions so we can have them ready and waiting for your arrival.

The Bakers Arms
  • The Bakers Arms at Somerford Keynes is a traditional 15th century village pub in the heart of the Cotswold Water Park.  Home-cooked food is a speciality and there is a substantial menu to choose from. Real ales such as Charles Wells Bombardier are on tap along with a good selection of wines and champagnes to tempt the taste buds. There is a large garden and a terraced seating area for fine days whilst during the winter the low beamed ceilings and warm open fires should make customers feel welcomed on cold, dark nights.

  • Walk to The Bakers Arms (1 mile) - turn left at the estate gate, follow the footpath to the main road (if evening you will need a torch).  Cross over the main road and walk straight down the path to join the road that runs through Somerford Keynes.  Turn right and follow the road for about 0.25 miles.  The Bakers Arms is adjacent to the main road on the left.

  • Drive to The Bakers Arms - Leave the Main Gates of LME and at the Spine Road turn left then after 30 metres turn right onto Arlington Road. Follow this road through Somerford Keynes village and The Bakers Arms in on the left hand side at the end of the village.

  • At The Old Boathouse Restaurant & Bar, you can enjoy picturesque dining and drinking with views of the Water Park from our lakeside tables and outside decking (see picture on the left).

  • Menus make the most of seasonal ingredients, showcasing a mix of classic British dishes, sharing platters and lighter meals, with feature dishes including 21-day dry aged steak, beer battered fish & chips and superfood salad. Over at the bar, there is a range of wines, beers and spirits on offer as well as a selection of classic cocktails, Prosecco and Champagne.

  • And if catching up with friends and family over a relaxed Sunday lunch sounds enticing, our roast of the day starts from £17. Lunch is served between 12noon and 4.30pm and we recommend booking.

  • The Eliot Arms, South Cerney - approximately four miles away, has a garden on the banks of the River Churn and log fire in the winter. Tel: 01285 860215.

  • The Village Pub, Barnsley -  approximately 11 miles away. Was hired by Liz Hurley & Arun Nayar for their wedding guests, has a fantastic and varied restaurant menu.  Tel: 01285 740421.

  • The Wild Duck Inn, Ewen - approximately two miles away, in a picturesque location, dates back to 1563.  The Wild Duck has a very popular restaurant with a good selection of beer & wine.  There is also a lovely garden (see picture right).  Tel: 01285 770310.

  • The Old Spotted Cow, Marston Meysey - The Old Spotted Cow is a traditional Cotswold-stone pub on the outskirts of the pretty village of Marston Meysey, mid way between the Roman town of Cirencester and the pretty market town of Fairford. Set back from the road and surrounded by attractive gardens. Trading continuously as a pub since before 1820, with excellent real ales, a considered wine list and freshly-cooked contemporary British food in a relaxed environment. Also acts as a B&B for longer stays.

  • The White Hart Inn, Aston Keynes -  located in a pretty village just on the edge of the Cotswold Water Park,  about 45 mins slow walk from LME along banks the  fledgling River Thames. Start from the Front gates and follow the Thames to Aston Keynes and the Pub is on the main road overlooking the Thames.  The White Hart Inn is leased by the village, and provides a warm and cosy atmosphere where everyone is welcome for a relaxing drink or delicious meal.  The ales are Cask Marque accredited, and feature in the Good Beer Guide 2020, and the pub has been shortlisted for Wiltshire Life’s Pub of the Year 2020! The food is made from scratch by the village based chef and his team, who pride themselves in sourcing the best local ingredients to create sumptuous pub staples, the finest fish and chips, ‘mega’ burgers, and hearty Sunday roasts.

  • Malt & Anchor is an award-winning British FIsh and Chip restaurant and takeaway situated in the heart of the Cotswolds.

  • The Fleece, Hotel, Restaurant and Pub, is a traditional coaching inn and a Grade II listed building. It's history stretches as far back as 1651. Following defeat at the Battle of Worcester in the same year, King Charles II is believed to have used the building as a hiding place when he was forced to flee from Oliver Cromwell’s New Model Army.
