Cotswolds Sculpture Park

The ‘Cotswolds Sculpture Park’ sits on a 10 acre site, bought 21 years ago by the Hartland family and has now been transformed into a mixed deciduous and conifer woodland with ponds, gardens and glades. Joining these diverse spaces are meandering paths that take you on a journey around the park providing an international centre for contemporary Art.

The Park itself is an ongoing project which will continue changing, producing a biodiversity of natural ecosystems, providing Artists both established and emerging, with a wonderful and diverse enviroment to exhibit their work.

Its a great place to spend a peaceful walk admiring the well kept plants and trees and also being amazed by the stunning sculptures that a placed along the winding path. A booklet maps out the paths and the sculptures which are mostly all for sale.

Then relax afterwards with a nice drink and delicious freshly baked cake selection at the onsite Poppin Tearoom and Gallery.

The gates to the park are along Arlington Drive, near to Elm View and not far from the Baker’s Arms public house. The Park is about 30 minutes walk from LME and a 10 minute drive.

Farms and Wildlife Attractions

Butts Farm where you can watch chicks hatching, cuddle the bunnies, feed the Zurich Flying Pigs and give lambs & goat kids their bottles.

Cotswolds Farm Park - Visitors of all ages can interact closely with the animals and learn about farming, past and present. As the home of rare breed conservation, visitors can meet over 50 flocks and herds of farm animals, including Gloucestershire Old Spot Pigs and Highland cattle. With an adventure playground, Farm Safari, Maze, Tractor School, Sand pits and Jumping pillows, there’s lots of entertainment for children of all ages. The on-site restaurant, serving seasonal food and Adam’s own beer, is a hit with the adults. There is a campsite and lodages to stay onsite for an extended stay.

Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens - Is approximately 21 miles from LME. Stroll around the Park and get eye-to-eye with giraffes, watch rhinos graze on the Gothic manor house lawns, walk with lemurs or take a ride on Bella the Train (April-Oct). The stunning gardens and themed borders, make a beautiful backdrop the animals. With over 260 different species of animals in over 120 acres of parkland, there's plenty of space to relax and get closer to wildlife! Kids of all ages will love the adventure playground in the woods with interconnecting tree-houses, rope bridges and slides. They have one of the largest reptire collections in the UK Other indoor exhibits include Insect House, Bat House, Little Africa and Tropical House with free roaming sloths, bats and birds.

Slimbridge Wetland Centre - is 25 miles from LME. With an astounding
array of wildlife from water voles to waders, hares to dragonflies, Slimbridge is home to the world's largest collection of swans, geese and ducks. It is also the only place in the world where you can see all six species of Flamingo.
Cotswolds County Park and Beach

The Cotswolds County Park and Beach is a man made beach and multiple activity centre which is very close to LME – take those trunks, buckets & spades! Kids will love the adventure playgrounds & junior climbing walls situated right by our beach.

Some activities are launched from the South Lake & can all be hired on the day from our DragonFly Reception. Captain Pedaloes & Mini Port Electric Boats or glide the waters in Kayaks & SUPS.

The activities all sits within extensive parkland, perfect for picnics and relaxing with friends & family.

Cheltenham Races - The racecourse is best known for the National Hunt festival held in March each year and includes races such as the Gold Cup & Champion hurdle.

The Royal International Air Tattoo - is held each July at nearby RAF Fairford and is the world's largest military air show. It has gained the well-earned reputation as one of the UK's top outdoor family events.

The Phoenix Festival is a youth and community led totally FREE TO ENTER annual festival that offers two days of music, dance and family fun in the Abbey Grounds, Cirencester.

Royal Tetbury

Tetbury is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and the second largest town in the Cotswolds. It is the home of HRH Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, and the Duchess of Cornwall and, was an important market for Cotswold wool and yarn during the Middle Ages. Today, it is better associated with boutique shops, great food, and its Royal Connections.

The Prince of Wales first arrived in 1980 at Highgrove and made it the family home. Since then he has transformed the garden into what is now regarded as one of the most creatively inspired gardens of today. The garden consists of a series of interlinked areas, each having its own character and purpose. Many people visit and tour this stunning garden open from April until October for guided tours gaining a glimpse into royalty. The Highgrove Gardens guided tours need to be booked in advance.

Prince Charles opened the Highgrove shop in Tetbury in 2008 and was the perfect complement for the other shops in Tetbury who have served the Royal Household for many years with some gaining the prestigious Royal Warrant. Duchy Home Farm, which runs itself like the garden on organic principles, lies also very close to Tetbury.

Artique, a unique business run by George and Ali Bristow, has grown over many years to become one of the country’s destination shops for people with a love of Asia. An eclectic mix of old and new sit happily together in this wonderful 17th century house. The whole building has been transformed into a treasure trove of Asian goods. They also run printing and crafting workshops.
